Kryszyztof Wodiczko gives voice to veterans

The monument of Abraham Lincoln in Union Square Park, NYC, is alive this month with the voices of veterans of the Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan wars. It’s the moving work of Krzysztof Wodiczko (professor in residence of art, design and the public domain) who filmed 14 veterans and their family members for “Abraham Lincoln: War Veteran Projection.” Their stories, projected onto the statue of Lincoln, are on view through December 9.

Phoebe Hoban wrote about the installation in the Wall Street Journal. More Art produced the work in collaboration with veterans’ organizations, the Polish Cultural Institute New York, and a host of public, private, educational and arts organizations.
