Amin Alsaden in WTD

Amin Alsaden’s (PhD student) article “Baghdad Modernism: Duplicity of Mirages and a Crisis of History” is featured in a special issue of the Dubai-based quarterly magazine WTD titled Emergent/The Iraq Issue 03. Alsaden’s essay is a review of the recent exhibition on
architectural modernism in Iraq, “City of Mirages: Baghdad,1952–1982,” held at the Boston Scoiety of Architects’ BSA Space gallery. He highlights the strengths of the exhibition but also points out the restrictive frameworks that continue to characterize scholarly engagement with architecture in the Middle East.
