Charles Waldheim and Andrea Hansen curate Composite Landscapes exhibit

Charles Waldheim (John E. Irving professor and chair of landscape architecture), and Andrea Hansen (lecturer of landscape architecture) recently curated an exhbition titled Composite Landscapes at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.

Examining one of landscape architecture’s most recognizable representational forms, Composite Landscapes gathers work from a select group of influential contemporary artists and a dozen of the world’s leading landscape architects to reveal practices of photomontage. These montages depict the conceptual, experiential, and temporal dimensions of landscape while illuminating the contemporary status of the photographically constructed image for the design disciplines and beyond.

The exhibition will be open from June 27 through September 2, 2013
