A selection of GSD events posters has been acquired by the Art Institute of Chicago for its permanent collection.
The acquired artwork includes posters developed by the GSD Events office with NORM, Dmitri Bruni and Manuel Krebs (Fall 2012 and Spring 2013); Irma Boom (Fall 2011 and Spring 2012); and Lars Müller (Fall 2008 and Spring 2009). Zoë Ryan, Chair and John H. Bryan Curator of Architecture and Design, described the acquisition as “an invaluable addition to the department’s holdings.”
The posters will sit alongside works by Frank Lloyd Wright, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier; contemporary architects Elizabeth Diller, Hernan Diaz Alonso, Lindy Roy and MOS (Michael Meredith and Hilary Sample); and designers Hella Jongerius, Konstantin Grcic, Stefan Sagmeister and Joris Laarman.
