ONE PRIZE, an annual design and science award to promote green design in cities, awards GSD graduate Kenya Endo (MLA ’13) the winner of the 2013 “stormproof” competition. The ONE PRIZE Award aims to explore the social, economic, and ecological possibilities of urban transformation, and attracted 168 teams and 310 team members from more than 15 countries this year. Kenya’s project, titled Dynamic Capacities, promoted the idea of harvesting sediments to create a protective wetland around the coast of the Tone River in Tokyo, Japan. View Kenya’s project.
