Gary Hilderbrand, Professor in Practice of Landscape Architecture at GSD and Principal of Reed Hilderbrand LLC, lectured on his firm’s work and its relationship to his research on the urban forest canopy, on February 17th, in Athens, Greece. “Overcoming the Nature/Culture Divide: The Beauty of Shade” was presented at the Athens Concert Hall through the generosity of the Athens Welfare Foundation of Cultural Affairs (KIKPE).
GSD Alumnus Thomas Doxiadis (MLA ’98), of Doxiadis Plus, Athens, hosted the event with Ionnis Manos, Megaron President. Megaron promotes the role of contemporary culture in the Athens community; the Megaron Plus series has included lectures by Rem Koolhaas, Gilles Clement, Fernando Caruncho, and Massimiliano Fuksas.
