GSD Alumni Council

The Alumni Council is the primary representative body of Graduate School of Design alumni. Its fundamental goal is to promote the advancement of the GSD in the world. Totaling between twenty and fifty members at any given time, the Council represents an array of design fields, ages and regions throughout the country and the world. They are distinguished practitioners and academics who are highly engaged in the design issues of the day and tend to be heavily involved in professional, governmental, civic, and business affairs in their communities.

Council members provide a strong link between the walls of Gund Hall and the “real world” beyond. They contribute to the welfare of the School by connecting alumni and students, and by representing excellence in their chosen professions, which reflect the School's programs—architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, urban planning and real estate.

The mission of the Council is to:

• Facilitate communication among students, alumni and the GSD;

• Encourage alumni participation in ensuring the financial strength of the GSD, especially supporting student scholarships
• Assist in the identification and recruitment of superior prospective students, particularly minority candidates, for admission to the GSD;
• Assist students with their professional growth through mentorship, internship, networking and recruitment programs
