Concurrent Degree Programs in Urban Planning and Architecture

The Graduate School of Design offers concurrent degree programs in urban planning and architecture. Students must apply to and be admitted to each degree program separately. Admission to or enrollment in one program does not guarantee admission to another program. Students currently enrolled in a GSD degree program who seek admission to a second GSD degree program must follow the same procedures and application deadlines as that required for new applicants. Other regulations regarding concurrent degrees are at: http://www.gsd.harvard.edu/#/gsd-resources/registrar/academic-procedures/other-policies.html

Below we provide a suggestion for an example program for MUP/MArch I, MUP/MArch I AP, and MUP/MArch II. If a student starts in the planning program the semesters would be reordered. Architecture classes are indicated in plain text and planning classes in italics. This program is indicative only and changes in the curriculum, and the individual situations of students, may mean that there will be slight differences in course requirements and sequencing. Your official course of study will be the one worked out with the two program directors based on the requirements in place in your first year of study in each program.
