Faculty members and students participate in many different types of technologically-oriented research activities, both at the Design School and as part of other larger University-related research initiatives. Major areas of interest include the following primary areas:

- Computer-Aided design & Manufacturing (CAD.CAM) Applications in Design
- Advanced Materials: Composites, Smart Materials and Technologies

Resources include a wide array of computer-based Modeling and Simulation applications, an Environmental Testing Room, an extensive array of CAD/CAM and robotic equipment, and a Materials Library.
