Description:
Playgrounds have the potential to be the heart of a community by providing a place for families to gather, socialize, and build friendships. In order to achieve this status, playgrounds need to be attractive and safe. This course will evaluate the components of a playground design. It will explore various types of playground structures, compare different playground surfaces, discuss appropriate play structures for different age groups, and review current safety guidelines dictating play structure layout. Unique playground designs from around the world will be analyzed as well.
