Director, Solid Objectives - Idenburg Liu Solid Objectives is a proactive agency that develops ideas in the realm of art, architecture and the city. Its ambition is to play a participatory or catalytic role in projects that enhance the exchange of ambitiously progressive ideas. Distilled artifacts include articles, books, exhibitions and lectures. Current topics of interest comprise an exploration of the hidden potentials within the condition of decline, the idea of biodegradable urbanism and finding ways to use nature as building material. Idenburg Liu is a design firm based in Brooklyn. The firm is currently involved in projects in the US, the Netherlands and China. Florian gained his experience through his work at Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa / SANAA, a Japanese design firm, where he worked from 2000 till 2007. He was involved in a number of key projects, most notably the Almere Stadstheater in the Netherlands, the Institut Valencian d' Art Modern in Spain, the Glass Pavilion at the Toledo Museum of Art in Ohio and the New Museum in New York. Besides active practitioner, Mr. Idenburg is an ardent educator and writer. Between 2006 and 2007 he held the position of Visiting Lecturer at the School of Architecture at Princeton University. Since 2007, he is Design Critic at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard. He is a frequent lecturer, panelist and critic at universities and institutions throughout the U.S and abroad. His writings have been published in magazines such as Domus, A+U and Idea Magazine.
