Maura Rockcastle

Maura Rockcastle is a practicing landscape designer in New York City. She spent three and a half years with Field Operations working on a range of large public Parks and has recently transitioned to Snohetta Architects' NYC studio. At Field Operations, Rockcastle was a project designer throughout all design phases of the High Line project in Manhattan, for the master plan for Great Falls State Park in Paterson, NJ, and for the master plan for Shelby Farms Park in Memphis, TN. She has a background in sculpture and printmaking, and holds a Masters of Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. This past summer, in collaboration with artist Regan Golden, she won the opportunity to design and construct a temporary installation for Walker on the Green: Artist-Designed Mini-Golf at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, MN. Rockcastle is interested in public spaces that provide an opportunity hybridize infrastructure, leisure, ecology, remediation and community development.
