Wooyoung Kimm has been a professor of architecture in Sungkyunkwan University from 2003. He did his master of architecture at U.C Berkeley and conducted his doctorate researches on the ubiquitous public domain at Harvard University in 2008. and on the social information institution at Seoul National University (SNU) in 2002. He has been developing the concept of "Dynamic Urbanism" as a socio-physical prototype of networked community layered with wired and wireless communication and information technologies which illustrates the group proximity of interactive activities on the identical context of micro or macro scale. In terms of the ubiquitous environment, Wooyoung Kimm participated in the strategic plan of the multi-functional administrative city (Sejong 2006) and is working on the design of the information pavilion at Tomorrow City (Incheon Free Economic Zone 2008). Wooyoung Kimm, as a licensed architect in both New York and Seoul, founded his own design research lab, the Cyber Space in Digital Environment in 1997 as well as design firm, the Kimm and Lee Architects in 1995. He developed his works in a series of the social information institutions: Gunpo Municipal Children Library (Gunpo 2004), Gimhae National Museum Social Education Center (Gimhae 2004), Korean Independence Movement Memorial Hall (Andong 2003), the Spectrum Commercial and Cinema complex (Taegu 2000), the Soohyup Training Institute (Chunan 1999), and Jangyu Municipal Library (Jangyu 1998). While defining the urban public domain, he participated in the urban designs of the Chunggaechun Redevelopment (Seoul 2001), the Naesoo Urban Redevelopment (Seoul 2002), the Yeoui Multiplex Housing (Seoul 2002), the Banpo Residential Redevelopment (Seoul 2002), and the Dongdaemoon Stadium Redevelopment (Seoul 2004).
