Site Planning

This course provides an introduction to the theories, principles, and methods of site planning and land design practices. Through case studies based upon landscape archetypes, analysis of contemporary landscape architectural projects, faculty of the Department of Landscape Architecture and visitors, the course seeks to expand the student\’s understanding of spatial, programmatic, and engineered changes to land. Class assignments concerning housing, circulation systems, parking, and commercial and institutional planning develop a critical understanding of site, program, and natural and man-made landscape systems.
