Scales of Practice will highlight work from the design firm of Chan Krieger and Associates, a twenty-person firm in Cambridge, MA. The firm works primarily for the public, educational, and institutional sectors, particularly on projects that engage complex urban settings. The firm takes special pride in that work, believing that the highest calling for design professionals is to consider and improve the public realm, where the life of the city unfolds. From architectural work such as the Carl J. Shapiro Clinical Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center to large scale urban planning projects such as the Central Artery Master plan, this exhibit will illustrate the exceptional work that spans 20 years of Chan Krieger and Associates contribution to design at all levels.
A founding principal of Chan Krieger and Associates, Alex Krieger, FAIA, is
Professor in Practice of Urban Design and Chairman of the Department of Urban Planning and Design and has taught at the GSD since 1978.
