| Territories: Contemporary European Landscape Design | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | |
April 19 - May 24, 2001
This exhibition displays some fifty projects completed in the last ten years, representing over four dozen teams from eleven European countries. The exhibit attempts to show the increasing spectrum of landscape practice as its professional range broadens and the variety and complexity of its projects increases. The projects exhibited are evenly distributed among the range of landscape practice, from rural areas to city centers to urban structures, to suburban perimeters, industrial zones, and diverse infrastructure systems. The contours of the practices are extremely variable, especially in different countries. Each region yields evidence not only of individual contexts and solutions, but also of principal issues that landscape design, to an increasing extent, is called upon to address.
This exhibition was co-curated by Jospeh Disponzio, Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture; and Sébastien Marot, Editor of Le Visiteur, Paris and Visiting Design Critic. Department of Landscape Architecture, Spring 2001
