Event Description

The Urban Metabolism Group and the Spain GSD student groups are co-sponsoring a lecture of Barcelona’s Chief Architect, Vicente Guallart entitled “Self-sufficient Cities and the City Protocol”. In this lecture, Guallart will position the current agenda, framework and projects under the self-sufficient paradigm for the city of Barcelona. In addition, Guallart’s lecture will present a new initiative, lead from the Barcelona City Council, entitled the “City Protocol” which attempt to define a common framework to categorize and interconnect cities around the world. The lecture will follow with a conversation between Vicente Guallart and the students about the prospects of this initiative.
