Looking for a lightbulb? Need a room to meet in? Lost your key? Find out who's who.
Class Room Occupancy
Fines and/or imprisonment for unsafe conditions for all assembly uses. Dangerous conditions such as blocked or impeded ingress or egress, failure to maintain or shutting off any fire protection system, storage of flammable fuel without proper license or in excess of license, exceeding occupancy limits will result in fines and/or imprisonment. Relevance to the University: This will apply to Harvard-owned buildings, including but not limited to, lecture halls, rooms with a capacity of more than 50 people, and theatres.
Please remember the mail center WILL NOT SIGN FOR OR ACCEPT ANY PERSONAL PACKAGES delivered to Gund Hall.
Project Room
This is the place for concrete, plaster, and larger scale projects. You must obtain a registration form from the Woodshop when using this room. Space is limited, so use is available for active projects only.
Repairs and Studio Leaks
We are aggressively pursuing studio leaks. If you notice a leak report the location to 5-4899 or e-mail Kevin Cahill. Please provide the workstation number affected. If you see something at the school that requires maintenance, work order requests can be reported to us a variety of ways: Online Work Order Request Form, the Building Services office, L-30, or by phone, at 495-2514. Please note your workstation number that requires repair. Your workstation number is located on the outer part of your desk facing the aisle in yellow adhesive, made up of a number, a letter, and another number. Please call us if you have questions.
Room Scheduling
The classrooms are available for your use outside of the regular schedule. However, do not use rooms without first scheduling through our office, Room L30 in the basement, through Paul Scannell , also reachable at 617-495-2514.
Recycling
Good news, we now recycle aerosol cans. Please dispose of your spray mount, fixative, etc. cans in the 5-gallon buckets located in the no-mans-land areas (Cambridge Street side, floors 2, 3 & 4). Click Here to find out more.
Right To Know Center
Progress continues on creating a "Right to Know" Center in the project room. Many of the materials used at the school represent some form of hazard. This center will contain MSDS (Manufacturers Safety Data Sheets) as well as fabrication guides and technical bulletins. We strongly urge you to review this information to make an informed decision on the health and safety risks of the materials you use.
Storage
Storage is limited. If your model is not stored at your personal workstation have it clearly labeled so you can be contacted if it needs to be relocated. Unlabeled models are subject to disposal. Lockers in the Gund Hall basment are available each semester via a sign up book located in Gund Hall, L30.
Studio Electricity
Receptacles are located under the reference tables. Tan receptacles are for general use and gray receptacles are for computers and peripherals only.
