Assistant or Associate Professor, Architectural Design
Harvard University Graduate School of Design is seeking to fill one or more full-time or part-time assistant or associate professor positions for persons qualified to offer graduate-level instruction in architectural design and who have a strong research interest in design technology (e.g., sustainable design, building construction, computation) or visual studies/sensory media (e.g., animation, video, representation).
Full-time voting faculty positions may be filled for a fixed initial term, normally up to five years, with responsibilities for teaching, scholarship, and administration. Part-time positions are normally half-time and require the maintenance of an active outside practice or research activities. Part-time positions may be filled for a fixed initial term, normally up to five years with the possibility of renewal, with responsibilities for studio teaching and administration. Candidates for both the full-time and part-time positions should have some teaching experience and their creative work in design, scholarship or professional practice, or a combination thereof, should indicate strong promise of creative achievement in the field.

Adjunct Professor in Architectural Design
The GSD is seeking one or more individuals at the non-tenured senior faculty level whose work focuses on architectural design and who have a strong research interest in design technology (e.g., sustainable design, building construction, computation) or visual studies/sensory media (e.g., animation, video, representation).
Placed in the department of architecture, the successful candidate will have the interest and ability to address issues of their field and design across the departments at the GSD. S/He will be expected to play a role in the school’s advanced studies and doctoral programs, and serve as a liaison to related groups across Harvard. We are particularly interested in individuals who have the capacity to bridge between technology and the design culture. The appointment will be made at the level of part-time Adjunct Professor with responsibilities for teaching design studio and related courses, research, and administration. Part-time positions are normally half-time and require the maintenance of an active outside practice or research activities. Part-time positions may be filled for a fixed initial term, normally up to three years with the possibility of renewal. The GSD is seeking an individual at the junior faculty level whose work focuses on technology in relation to landscape architecture. The successful candidate will have graduate level teaching experience in landscape architecture and/or allied design disciplines as well as a research agenda in landscape technology. S/He will be expected to deliver graduate level instruction in design studios, seminars, and core lecture courses. We are particularly interested in candidates whose work in landscape technology exhibits the potential to advance design culture, and to impact the discipline of landscape architecture through research and publications. The successful candidate will also be to contribute to the teaching programs and research agenda of the School across allied design disciplines. The appointment will be made at the rank of assistant or associate professor, depending upon qualifications and experience.

Assistant or Associate Professor, Urban Design
The GSD is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Urban Design and/or a part-time Assistant or Associate Professor in Practice of Urban Design to offer graduate level studio instruction in urban design and to conduct lectures and seminars on topics relevant to contemporary urbanism and the city. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in the conceptualization and development of research and academic initiatives that bear on the possibilities for reshaping contemporary urban environments. Ideal candidates should have exposure to diverse global contexts and demonstrate a strong ability to effectively document, analyze and speculate upon diverse urban scenarios within the United States and internationally. Candidates should also have significant experience in integrating teaching and applied research, and hold an advanced degree in architecture and/or urban design. Previous work in design, scholarship or professional practice, or a combination thereof, should indicate strong promise of creative achievement in the field.
