Fall Term

August

Mon 5 - Fall tuition due

Mon 26 - International student orientation

Tue 27 - Orientation for all new students begins                            

Thu 29 - Studio options presentations and lottery       

Fri 30 - Limited-enrollment lottery closes at 10 a.m.
             Fall option studios begin

September

Mon 2 - Labor Day – offices closed

Tue 3 - All other classes begin, registration for returning students

Wed 4 - Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown

Fri 6 - Last day to submit November degree applications  

Tue 10 - Fall course selections due

Fri 13 - Yom Kippur begins at sundown

Tue 17 - Last day to add or drop module 1 courses
              Last day for late registration
              Last day to take leave for full tuition refund

Fri 20 - Last day to add or drop full-term courses
             Deadline to submit x-reg petitions to other Harvard schools

October

Tue 8 - Last day to take leave for 3/4 tuition refund

Mon 14 - Columbus Day – classes meet, offices closed

Wed 16 - Module 1 ends

Thu 17 - Module 2 begins

November

Fri 1 - Open House
           Last day to add or drop module 2 courses

Tue 5 - Last day to submit March degree applications
            Last day to take leave for 1/2 tuition refund               

Mon 11 - Veterans Day – classes at discretion of instructor, offices closed

Wed-Sun 27-1 - Thanksgiving recess     

December

Wed 4 - Last day of fall classes, module 2 ends
              Last day to submit leave of absence applications for spring 2014
              Last day to withdraw from a course without receiving fall course grade
              Last day to take leave for 1/4 tuition refund (no refund after this date)

Mon 9 - Core reviews begin

Wed 11 - Core reviews end, studio reviews begin

Fri 13 - Studio reviews end

Mon 16 - Fall examinations begin, thesis pre-review

Thur 19 - Fall examinations end

Fri 20 - Winter recess begins

Tue 24 - Gund Hall closes at 12 p.m.

January

Thur 2 - Winter recess ends, Gund Hall reopens

Withdrawals and Tuition Charges

Any student who is granted a leave or withdraws from the university after registration will be held responsible for tuition charges according to the following schedule:

Fall Term

Leaves on or before September 17

no tuition charge

Leaves on or before October 8

one-fourth tuition charge

Leaves on or before November 5

one-half tuition charge

Leaves on or before December 4

three-fourths tuition charge

After December 4

full tuition charge

Spring Term

Leaves on or before February 10

no tuition charge

Leaves on or before February 28

one-fourth tuition charge

Leaves on or before March 28

one-half tuition charge

Leaves on or before April 28

three-fourths tuition charge

After April 28

full tuition charge
