Recyclables recovered:
In FY2004, Harvard GSD recovered 51% of its refuse, 76 tons, for recycling. This comprised of the following materials:
- 51 tons of paper & cardboard
- 9 tons of compostables
- 4.4 tons of containers (glass, metal & plastic)
- 12 tons of fluorescent lamps & used equipment
- 76 tons total recycling
GSD recycling also prevented these pollutants from release in 2004
- 53.47 Tons of Carbon Dioxide (equivalent to 30 cars)
- 1.53 Tons of Methane
- 0.46 Tons of Monoxide
- 0.15 Tons of Nitrogen Oxides
- 0.15 Tons of Sulfur Oxides
