Traditional Shop
The shop, Gund room L35, provides most of the necessary tools and equipment for executing school-related projects. Tools may also be signed out for use elsewhere within Gund Hall. In general, students must purchase their own materials, however, small scraps are commonly available. For safety reasons, students are required to attend orientation sessions before using the shop. Scheduled for each semester, times and dates for these sessions are posted on the shop door. During the term, shop monitors are available to help with equipment and setups. The shop is only open while a shop monitor is present.

Project Room
The Project Room is located in the basement of Gund Hall, room L31. This is a space designed to meet the needs of individuals or entire studios for creating larger models or constructions. The use of materials such as plaster or concrete is supported and encouraged in this space rather than in the Studio. The Project Room is open 24 hours per day, but if power tools such as saws are to be used here, two people must be present in case of an accident. Space is limited and a registration form needs to be filled out to reserve a space for a limited time. Forms can be obtained in the Woodshop. The Project Room is cleaned weekly and items not registered may be recycled or removed. There is no storage of models in the Project Room, and models fabricated there must be removed as soon as finished.
