Reboot your machine holding down the C key.

Reboot your machine holding down the Shift key.

My application froze. How do I force the application to quit?

Hold down Apple-Option-Escape.

How do I force a restart?

Only do this if you computer is completely frozen, and force quit out of the application does not work. Hold down Control-Apple and press the power button. Another way is to hold down Apple-Option-Shift and press the power button.
