Photo Facilities

The GSD computer resources group, through its presentation services manager, Doug Cogger, has many photographic resources available to GSD students and staff.

Darkroom

A darkroom is available through the undergraduate Lowell House. Contact Doug Cogger in Presentation Services for more information.

Photo Room

A space in room 518 is available to students to photograph their work on a part time basis. The room is open between 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm each day and 9:00 to 10:00 pm each weekend day, subject to change for individual use of the room. A TA is available for evening and weekends to assist students setting up the lights, backdrops, etc. Please do not leave any models or other materials in the room. The building staff will diposed of it to set up the classroom.

Models and flat work left in the model room will be thrown away!

Color backdrops(black, white and blue)
Digital camera (sign-out while TA is on duty)
Flash carder reader is available through the TA on duty to down load your images to the network.

Photo Equipment for Loan

The GSD maintains certain equipment which can be checked out by students for a 24 hour period. Students can reserve and check out equipment during the day time throught Helpdesk or Presentation Services, located in room 520. include.

Digital Still Cameras - there are 5 digital still cameras with flash cards in each camera.
Digital video cameras - there are two video cameras for students to check out.
Tripods- are availble on a limited basis. .
