Add or Update a Page
Which Template?
We name templates by where they live on the website.
For example, the template people_student_life is used on many pages located in the People section, under Student Life. If there is no template for that folder, try looking for a template named by the parent folder.

Special Restrictions
At GSD, we use templates and style sheets to control the look and layout of our pages. Please do your best to stay within the guidelines we have been given by only using the provided templates to make new pages, as described here.
Pages made without using templates will not get all sitewide updates, even if you make it by copy and paste from our site!
When you work on our pages, you will notice that you can only edit the page in the region outlined in the light blue box. Inside the box you may add and edit content and images, but everything outside the box is page structure and is protected from change.
Update an Existing Page
Find the page name in the webdev panel (what's the webdev panel?), then double click to open it. If you cannot find the page, you may not currently have permission to edit or update it. Your supervisor can request this from Help Desk.
Put your cursor in the blue "content area" and type. When you're done editing, just Save and go preview your page. Do not use Save as -- you want to save over the old copy when you are doing updates.
Add a new page
Select New from the File menu. Select the Templates tab, and highlight Site webstage. (see below). You should see your template in the preview window at the right. Make sure "update page when template changes" is always on! Choose a template and click Create.
Put your cursor in the blue "content area" and type. When you're ready to save, select Save As... from the File menu, and save it within the appropriate folder under L:\webstage.
Please do not use spaces or capital letters in file names!
