Mission:
- Maintain and enhance a highly engaged, vibrant community of alumni and friends worldwide.
- Lead the School’s fundraising efforts in support of the GSD mission.
Sustaining and enhancing our global community of alumni and friends is vital to the ongoing work of the School. Our alumni network, and that of the University as a whole, is considered to be among the world’s most prestigious. The opportunity to become part of this community attracts many of this generation’s very best students and scholars.
Alumni and friends serve as our ambassadors. They recommend students, assist with admissions, visit classes, offer career advice, hire graduates, participate on review panels, offer and fund studios, and provide essential financial support.
ER (comprising alumni affairs, development and the Design Magazine) builds on a centuries-long tradition of alumni engagement and support by nurturing lifelong relationships. Because the GSD contributes so significantly by educating leading design and planning practitioners, each staff member’s work plays an important role in strengthening the mission of the School.
Development and Alumni Relations is the center of all alumni activities. We are your GSD link through the Alumni Association, alumni events, reunions, the Alumni Council and maintaining alumni records. In addition, we are responsible for a successful development fundraising campaign -- raising money for critical funding needs at the GSD.
