The GSD Annual Fund for Student Financial Aid
Financial Aid at the GSDFor the current 2008-2009 school year, the GSD will distribute an estimated $6.8 million in financial aid to masters students. During the previous school year, GSD students received a total of $6 million in financial aid, 44% of which resulted from contributions from alumni and friends. Next year the need for financial aid is expected to increase even more, as the global credit crisis has weakened borrowing options for students.

"As a first-generation college and graduate student, financial aid was a significant factor in my choosing the GSD. I think many students, like myself, come to the GSD because they are certain their classmates will be selected from the best and brightest in the world, regardless of economic or geographic background. A strong financial aid program can help ensure the GSD maintains that position in a challenging economy." Crystal Winston, MUP '09 |

"GSD Students have tremendous passion, but they're also very pragmatic about the long-term costs and benefits of higher education. Strong financial aid allows many of us to take that leap of faith into the design world that would otherwise be too risky or too expensive." Zach Vanderkooy, MUP '09 |

"I am extremely thankful to Annual Fund donors for the financial aid opportunity. The grant has allowed me to pursue my academic and professional goals in a way that would not have been possible without financial support." Alda Black, MArch '10 |
