Limited-Enrollment Lottery
The online lottery for limited-enrollment courses will be opened on Tuesday, August 18, and will remain so until Tuesday, September 1 at 5:00 p.m. You will find the lottery preferences form on the Courses web page. While the lottery is open, you will be able to add or delete your name to preliminary course "lists" for these courses.
Enrollment Selection Process
The limited-enrollment lottery will determine course enrollments and there will be no preference given to any students for access to the limited-enrollment courses. Any prerequisites that a course may require should be clearly stated so you will know if you are eligible. Please note that you will only be allowed to select three courses via lottery. You should only select a course that you plan on enrolling in if assigned a slot.
By Tuesday night, September 1, preliminary lists (and waitlists if applicable) will be distributed to instructors and will also be available on the Courses web page. Instructors will bring the preliminary lists to the first day of classes. Because students may successfully lottery in to more courses than they wish to attend, it is imperative that you attend the first day for those classes you wish to enroll in; otherwise, your name will be crossed off at that time. Instructors should post a revised list after the first day of classes; if you decide not to enroll in a course after you attend the first class, please contact the faculty member.
If you are unable to participate in this lottery process but would like to enroll in one of these courses, you should attend the first class meeting and discuss the possibility of enrolling with the instructor.
