PIN (Personal Identification Number)
Through use of a PIN (Personal Identification Number) and HUID (Harvard University identification number), students have access to a range of applications administered by various offices throughout the University. Both new and returning students are responsible for requesting and maintaining their PINs at the Harvard University PIN Administration Site. New students may request PINs in late May after they have received their HUID and associated e-mail address via surface mail.
At this time, the following services are available through the use of your PIN (some require that students are officially matriculated):
- Current account statements and address information are viewable
on-line at Student
Receivables for continuing students. New students will be sent
their first term bill to their personal e-mail address in mid-July.
Through the use of the HUID and PIN, students may pay their term bills
on-line.
- Access to University-wide course
catalog and cross-registration
petition. Please be sure that you understand the GSD's policies
concerning the use of the on-line cross-registration petition.
- Access to students.gsd, a GSD student web forum.
- Access to Harvard Libraries e-resources.
HOLLIS catalog, VIA and OASIS will continue to be unrestricted (no
PIN is needed). Also, you may now interact with the library electronically
from your computer at the GSD, at home, or anywhere in the world to:
- renew and recall items
- renew books
- view a list of items checked out to you
- check fines online
