The Harvard University Health Services (HUHS) provides comprehensive health care to meet all of the students’ needs. The Harvard Student Health Plan has two parts: the health services fee for health care provided at HUHS and the Harvard-sponsored Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance policy.
The Holyoke Center facility provides convenient, high quality, on-campus medical care during the academic year (August 1 through July 31). In addition, the mandatory health services fee provides routine coverage for prescription medication costs (up to $3,700 per individual with a 2-tier copay for generic and brand-name drugs). Certain services such as dental care, contact lenses, eye glasses, some immunizations, and medications involve additional fees. If a student needs to be hospitalized, there is an on-site facility, Stillman Infirmary. Students with emotional difficulties who need a safe place to spend a few nights should make use of this option. When students need to be hospitalized for medical or surgical treatment, the main sites of care are Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Children’s Hospital and the Mt. Auburn Hospital.
How to get to the hospitals
