Ecosistema Urbano, the firm of Belinda Tato and Jose Luis Vallejo (design critics in architecture), has been awarded 1st prize in the international competition for the Master Plan to redefine the historic downtown of the city of Asunción, Paraguay.

The proposal developed by Ecosistema Urbano creates a new management model that combines top- down strategies with bottom-up initiatives. Rather than a Master Plan, a "Master Process" brings this planning process closer to the ever-mutating reality of the city and its inhabitants.

Details and photos in ArchDaily and on the Plan CHA website. Read a translation of the proposal.
