 Adele Chatfield-Taylor is president and CEO of The American Academy in Rome which is the oldest American overseas center for independent study and advanced research in the arts and humanities. Established in 1894, it annually awards the Rome Prize to 30 individuals working in architecture, landscape architecture, design arts, historic preservation and conservation, music composition, visual arts, and literature, and in ancient, medieval, renaissance and early modern, and modern Italian studies.
