Profile
T. Kelly Wilson is Adjunct Associate Professor of Architecture at the Graduate School of Design, where he has taught since 1996. He teaches freehand drawing, architectural drawing and visual perception, and architectural design. Recent course offerings include: The Marathon Drawing Studio, Drawing from Masters, Introduction to Design and Visual Studies in Architecture, Visual Studies, Painting and Paint—Studio Practice; with oil, and Drawing on the Urban Realm. He conducts research on artists who have used the city as a source of inspiration, and on the relationship between representation and visual structure in the work of various artists. He also teaches the GSD Summer Drawing Seminar in Rome.
Wilson exhibits his drawings and paintings widely and his work is held in several collections, including Temporary Monumentality. His architectural drawings and building designs have been published in Architecture, Architectural Record, and Quarto Books. He is also a practicing architect and the recipient of several building and design awards. Until 1987, Wilson was an associate at Schwartz/Silver Architects, where his work received an award from the Boston Society of Architects. He has taught architectural design, architectural drawing, and freehand drawing at MIT, Yale University, RISD, and Auburn University. He received the MArch from the GSD. |
