Jean Brownhill Lauer is the Founder and CEO of TheSweeten.com. Established in June 2011, it is an innovative online marketplace focused on the construction industry. TheSweeten.com facilitates interaction between clients and local Architects, Interior Designers and Contractors. Jean also founded Swee10.com (2008), ArchApp.com (2010).
TheSweeten.com, is currently operating and offering two main services: 1) provide more transparent relationships between architects, clients and contractors; and 2) expand the access for high quality professionals to smaller projects. TheSweeten.com provides a unique, interactive format for homeowners and professionals to communicate and develop effective relationships for their projects.
Before starting her companies, Jean was a Senior Manager of Global Architecture at Coach Inc. She lead teams responsible for creating and managing web tools that allowed Coach to build consistent, yet site specific stores globally and facilitated knowledge transfer among international groups to maintain these environments in the future. This work won Jean the Chairman’s Award in October 2005. Prior to Coach, Jean worked in several architecture firms on many large-scale projects. In addition to her role at TheSweeten.com, she also maintains a design practice of her own, is the Chair of the CEO Trust Quovis Group and an active volunteer at Habitat for Humanity and Young Women's Leadership Network. Jean graduated in 2000 from The Cooper Union with a Bachelors degree in Architecture.
During her fellowship year, Jean focised on the nexus where architecture, economics, and the internet overlap.
