Brad is an Environments Designer and Engineer at IDEO. Interested in the interface between digital and tacit human experience his projects have ranged from textile-based electronics for infant safety to envisioning architectural infrastructures for small-scale urban manufacturing.
Prior to IDEO, Brad designed myriad retail architectures, taught robots to paint Harley-Davidsons and was the system engineer for a globally-deployed server shelter for extreme environments. His broad experience provides an engineering rigor, Midwestern pragmatism and a driving curiosity toward subtle cleverness in design solutions.
Brad earned a Master of Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design where his work focused on humans and their immediate environments. His work has been exhibited throughout the USA and published internationally. He relies often on his BS in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University where he was awarded a Commerce Bank Presidential Scholarship for his work on emerging technology in the empowerment of engineering education.
