Brie Hensold

Design Critic in Urban Planning and Design

Brie Hensold is an urban planner, co-founder and principal of Agency Landscape + Planning, based in Cambridge. At Agency, Brie leads projects nationally across the full spectrum of planning and design, with a focus on integration of urban environments with natural systems planning and resilience. Her current projects include a vision plan for 60 miles of the White River in the Indianapolis region, a Downtown plan for Bozeman, Montana, and a public realm strategy for the Boston’s Seaport. Agency is a mission-driven practice dedicated to addressing social equity, cultural vitality and environmental resilience. The firm is currently a 2018-19 winner of the Miller Prize.

With a passion for understanding and improving communities and places, Brie’s work has been celebrated for innovative community engagement and a strong. Prior to founding Agency, Brie was a partner at Sasaki. Brie’s work has received awards from the American Society of Landscape Architects, the American Planning Association and the American Institute of Architects, among others. Brie holds a Masters of Urban Planning from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, where she currently leads executive education courses in resilient cities.
