Gregory Halpern has a BA in History and Literature from Harvard University and an MFA from California College of the Arts. He has published two books of photography. His first book, Harvard Works Because We Do, is a set of portraits and oral histories of service workers at Harvard University. His second book, Omaha Sketchbook, is a meandering narrative of Omaha, Nebraska, made while Halpern lived there for 4 months. A book of his new work–made on a road-trip through the American rust-belt–is being published by J&L Books in 2011. He currently lives in Rochester, New York where he teaches Photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
