Janne Corneil is the founding principal of Corneil Collaborative, a planning and urban design practice that works with cities, universities, and developers on master plans and development strategy. Current work includes master plans for University of Washington, Seattle, Santa Clara University, and Oakville Green Developments Tech District. Her broad range of experience working with public, institutional, community, and private clients strengthens her ability to navigate the cultural differences between universities, cities, and private stakeholders.
More recently, Corneil’s practice focuses on working with anchor institutions and their host cities to develop planning strategies that align research, innovation, and economic development goals in a shared vision for urban revitalization and city district building. Corneil holds degrees in architecture and urban design from the University of Toronto and the Harvard Graduate School of Design. She teaches planning studios and speaks frequently on the topics of the changing roles of institutions in cities and new models of urban economic development.
