Neal Morris is a real estate developer and attorney.  In 2000 he founded Redmellon Restoration and Development.  Based in New Orleans, the firm has projects in New Orleans and Atlanta.   In New Orleans, Redmellon focuses its efforts on building and renovating urban infill housing on formerly blighted and adjudicated properties.   In 2006 Redmellon was awarded the Innovation in Housing Award from the Louisiana Housing Finance Agency.   In the past several years Redmellon has renovated or developed over 400 units of affordable housing in New Orleans.

In recognition of the reality that elderly New Orleanians often have childcare responsibilities for their grandchildren, Neal is currently overseeing the development of an on-site daycare at a 36 unit elderly apartment building Redmellon developed in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans.   Construction is just beginning on Renewal Homes, 52 units of new single-family and two-family homes on formerly blighted lots purchased from the City of New Orleans.  Residency is reserved for residents making 80% of Area Median Income.

As a Loeb Fellow, Neal plans to study design with the goal of becoming a better collaborator with the design professionals he hires.   He also plans to study public policy and law as it relates to the low income housing industry.
