Assistant Dean for External Relations
William S. Saunders is editor of Harvard Design Magazine and Assistant Dean for External Relations at the GSD, where he has worked since 1982. He is author of Modern Architecture: Photographs of Ezra Stoller, and editor of books on architectural practices and on the landscape architecture of Daniel Kiley and Richard Haag. A Ph.D. in modern literature and criticism, he has published essays on architectural criticism, Rem Koolhaas’s writing, and Christopher Alexander’s books, as well as on poetry and fiction. He is a fanatic appreciator of Memphis soul music.
