Mi is a registered Architect in California and Massachusetts, a California
Licensed General Contractor; a member of the American Institute of Architects
as well as the California Chinese Association of Construction Professionals
and the Asian-American Architects and Engineers.
In 1979 he founded David Mi and Partners, Architects. The practice focuses on the design/build concept for houses, multifamily residential structures, commercial, and office buildings. Yielding to the encouragement proffered by his clients, Mi founded MICH Development Company and expanded his service package to include construction, estimating, financing, and property and asset management.
By weaving the multiple methods of government and institutional financing available, the projects achieved feasibility. His firm is involved in complex affordable housing development that includes family and elderly units, a childcare center, leased land, tax-exempt bond financing, subordinated secondary financing, and grants. David Mi’s global outlook has resulted in an abiding interest in the development of safe, sanitary, and affordable permanent housing in the undeveloped nations of the world.
