Mr.
Dowling has been active in real estate development business for over 25
years. He is president of Dowling Company, Inc, a Maui based real estate
development company. Dowling Company’s projects are typically 1/2
land development, 1/2 design build and 1/2 housing. For the past several
years the firm as had both the least expensive and the most expensive
housing developments in the Maui market.
In 1998, the Maui Chamber of Commerce named Dowling its Entrepreneur of the Year. The American Fundraising Professionals named Dowling Company its State of Hawaii 2001 Small Business of the Year. Also in 2001, the Maui Contractors Association named Dowling Company its Developer of the Year.
Mr. Dowling serves on the Board of Trustees of Babson
College. He served on the Board of Regents of the University of Hawaii
from 1998-2003. He is on the Board of Directors of the Maui Chamber of
Commerce and Ka Lima O Maui. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute’s
Resort Development Red Flight Council, the Maui Contractors Association,
and the Japan-Hawaii Economic Council.
