SANDRA ANN ROTMAN, (Toronto Teachers College), (Columbia University), (University of Toronto)

Sandra Rotman obtained her degrees from Toronto Teachers College, Columbia University and the University of Toronto. She has been a leader in community endeavours over the last 20 years: 1987-1993 Board of Directors of the National Ballet of Canada and since 1989 to 1998 of the Toronto International Film Festival. 1985-2000 she belonged to the Contemporary Curatorial Committee of the Art Gallery in Ontario. Since 1998 she has been Vice-chair of the Ontario Heritage Foundation and part of the Board of Trustees of the University Health Network. Since 2002 she has been active as an advisory Board to Sotheby’s Canada International, and member of the Board of Directors at the Art Gallery of Ontario.

Sandra Rotman has been very active in philanthropic endeavours in both leadership and supportive roles. Among her major initiatives is the establishment of the Program in Neuropsychiatry at the Baycrest Center for Geriatric Care and the Sandra Rotman Chair in Social work at the University of Toronto (UT). Through the chair created at UT, she will launch the Center for Health Sector Strategy, active between the Rotman School of Management and the University Health Network. She is leading the creation of the Scottsdale Summer Music and Festival Program. She is a Collector of American Antiquities, as well as Modern and Contemporary Art.
