Harvard University now offers a Master in Design Engineering (MDE) which is jointly taught by faculty from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design (GSD) and John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS).

Applicants for the MDE degree program are eligible to apply for federal and/or private loan options. Currently, students in this program will not be offered any need-based or merit-based grant options for this program.

US citizens and permanent residents can apply for federal aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and choosing school code E00212 for the GSD.  Domestic MDE applicants for the 2017-2018 academic year will need to complete the FAFSA by February 6, 2017.  Completing by February 6th,  will allow us to award your federal aid at the same time as your admission decision.

International citizens may apply for private loan options.  You can review private loan options on here: Private Loan Options.

The MDE tuition for 2017-2018 is yet to be determined, the current 2016-2017 MDE tuition is $50,000. The full MDE academic-year budget, including tuition, fees, and living expenses for 2016-2017 is available here: Tuition and Payment Procedures.
