Ceres is an information system developed by the State of California's Resources Agency to access a variety of data including satellite images, statistical databases, and GIS analysis. There are links to numerous California agencies.

California Information Center for the Environment provides information useful for environmental protection.

California Rivers Assessment A U.C. Davis project with significant geographic overlap.

Significant Natural Areas Program (SNAP) is part of the California Department of Fishand Game's Natural Heritage Division which develops and maintains a data management system for natural resources. The database is used for NCCP's and open space plans.

California Office of the Natural Resources Conservation Service is best known its their soil surveys, but it does much more. The NRCS works with citizens to conserve natural resources on private lands.
