Poverty Level Established
1955
The Povery Level was derived from a 1955 survey of food consumption which determined that families of three or more persons spend approximately one-third of their household income on food. Hence, the poverty level for these families was set at three times the cost of the nutritionally adequate economy food plan designed by the Department of Agriculture.

Housing Act of 1969

Title 1 of the Housing Act of 1969 provides for assisting borrowers in financing purchase of mobile homes.

Loan Handbook
1973
The HUD Handbook was released to provide assistance to lending institutions with mobile home lending activities.

National Affordable Housing Act of 1990
1990
The National Affordable Housing Act of 1990 declared: a "national goal that every American family be able to afford a decent home in a suitable environment."
