THE WELSH CONNECTION

The MANBAND are back in action. This time they're after the big one. This is the one that will make World War Two seem like a day out at Disneyland.

The MANBAND are back in action. They will tear your nerves to shreds with 'too fast to see' thrills in bars, back alleys and bedrooms. They will brutally shock you with explosive violence in gambling casinos, opium dens, and five star hotels. They will set your teeth on edge with THE car chase to end ALL car chases, as they hurtle through an all night supermarket, a sauna bath, a synagogue and a school for the sons of retarded politicians, ending with a nose to tail gun battle in the lift of a local Holiday Inn.

The losers' bodies are finally tossed out on to the 18th floor . . . Who will it be? . . . Do you really care who it will be? . . .

I don't give a monkey's monocle who it is . . . It could be Bridget Bardot for all I care . . . Hang on a minute . . . I didn't write that did I? . . . Oh my God, I feel faint . . . I'm ill . . . I demand to see a doctor . . .

Sorry, I'm all right now . . . I'll carry on . . .

Brought together for the first time ever are the cream of the underworld . . .

'LITTLE FINGER' . . . 'King Treachery' himself . . . The Planner. He has a million secred schemes to be the last one alive . . . He is totally ruthless in getting what he wants . . . when he wants it . . .

'JACK THE TRAIN' Fasters right foot in the world . . . He always seems to end up walking in circles . . . He has been turned into a viscious bitter disillusioned snake by his brother, who has become a rich and powerful man, but who now denies ever having a brother . . .

'THE DEPTH CHARGER' . . . The new man . . . Friendly and helpful so far, but not to be trusted for a second . . . When the chips are down he delivers the goods . . . a walking, talking ebony fighting machine . . .

'THE SAND EATER' . . . Show this man a law and he'll break it . . . and he'll get away with it . . . because he looks like an undercover narc . . . His heart is in the right place but his mouth is in the worng place . . .

'THE TURK' . . . The Turk fancies himself as a joker . . . No-one trusts him . . . He looks like a cross between the Tropical Bird House at London Zoo and a motorcycle accessory shop. He has a mouth like an all night hamburger joint . . . open 24 hours . . .

Now you know everybody . . . So put the record on, sit back and try to stay awake until the end . . . Although i don't know why you should bother really . . . All this excitement is killing me . . . Has anybody seen by sholder holster? . . . It was on top of yesterday's report in triplicate, next to my magnifying glass . . . Oh, never mind . . . It doesn't matter . . . Send someone out for some pizzas . . . No anchovies on mine . . . And a couple of bottles of coke . . . Anything on T.V., to-nite? . . . to-nite? . . . tonight? . . . to-nite? . . . this evening? . . .

THE WELSH CONNECTION was produced by the Manband at Olympic Studios, Barnes, between December '75 and February '76.

And tere's a whole heap of 'thank yous' to sort through. Here we go . . . To the Women in the life of every Man, and their children, and their children's children before them. To Andrew (for a million other things) and Mo, Johnny Morrison, Martin Wallace, the 'Upper St. Tycoons', the 'Mortimer Street Cavalry', Pip, Foster & sweet Dominique, Matti 'The Viking' Clatt, the new friends at M.C.A. Records, and 'The Folks' Barrie and Jenny. Sorry if we forgot anybody. Oh all right then . . . Eichler? This album is respectfully didicated to the following: Mr. and Mrs. Burton, J.P.R. Williams, 'Boogie' John Stanforth, Philip Jose Farmer, Walter Bicycle, Burce Dern & Fowler's West India Guaranteed Pure Cane Treacle. Well, that's it! That was fun. Let's do it again sometime.
