Liner
Notes by Deke:We have a new line-up again. Apart from the usual suspects - Micky Jones, Martin Ace and me - we have the return, after an absence of twenty years, of Phil Ryan on keyboards and a brand new drummer, Bob Richards. Phil - the Aneurin Bevan of the Lydian cadence - is a man who can stop your heart in the twinkling of an eye. Life without him, now, would be unthinkable. Bob - the Lobsang Rampa of the percussive arts - is a drummer whose subtle ferocity is only matched by his boundless energy. Both are peerless company, and both have revived our jaded, old souls.
Together
we stand, sholder to sholder, in the unending struggle to stem the overwhelming
tide of lucre-driven philistinism that threatens to engulf us all.
Let us not forget the motto of the National Union of Mineworkers: Eternal
Vigilence is the Price of Freedom.
We would like to thank Walter Krucker - our man in Europe - for his tireless dedication to the cause, Chris Meek - our road manager - for his icy efficiency and unflagging good humour, Petra & Andi Burmeister and Michael Marburg. Bob would like to thank Mike, Didi and Jörg at Paiste, George at Pearl and Gamlins Music Shop in Newport, for their help and support.
Circumstances,
damn circumstances, has mad it impossible for us to do a new studio album
at the moment, but we hope this record will go some way to bridge the gap
until we do.
Don't look downDeke
P.S. I have great hopes for the Millennium Bug.
