Michael Albert (MLA ’13) and Victor Perez Amado (MAUD, MARCH ’13) win Designing Action competition

Michael Albert (MLA II  ’13) and Victor Perez Amado (MAUD, MARCH I AP ’13) have won the Designing Action competition. Their project “theBEND” was selected from among over 130 entries in 99 countries.
“theBEND” reinvents Nashville’s 75-acre industrial site along Downtown Nashville’s Cumberland River transforming it into a mixed- use active urban setting. The project is inspired by patterns associated with the river and the creation of a pedestrian promenade that weaves throughout the district providing pedestrians with a varied recreational experience while addressing flood issues.
The competition is sponsored by the Nashville Civic Design Center and funded by the National Endowment of the Arts.
