A team of Harvard GSD students was recently announced the winner of a sustainable building design competition after presenting in Nanchang University in China with four other finalists. Team members include Yingying Lu (MDesS ’13), Tian Ren (MArch ’14), Keojin Jin (MDesS ’14), Zheng Jia (MIT ’12), and team advisor Jianxiang Huang (DDes ’13). The building will be completed a year from now in 2014, and team members will continue to participate in the design and construction process while working with the Institute of Green Building Technologies of Nanchang University, led by MIT graduate Yi Jiang (PhD).
“Involving teams from Harvard GSD provides great opportunities for communication and collaboration between the two schools,” commented Yi. “They introduce the cutting edge technology and design skills to Nanchang University, and in turn we provide a stage for the best designers from the GSD to build their work on our campus.”
